Everything glowed. Red and orange echoed along the walls, their warm light reverberating through the cave. Kiwi stood up wonderingly, eyes searching for a meaning. Stalagmites and stalactites grew from the ceilings and floors, and an endless sizzling filled the room, as the dripping water burned in the flames. Cold, clammy hands grasped Kiwi as she tossed and turned. They pulled at her from every direction, stretching her limbs and pinching her skin. She screamed, and a hand flew down her throat, cold as ice. They grabbed at her, tossing her into the walls. They broke her. She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t see, all around her was darkness. Sharp cracks echoed loudly as she was tossed again and again, the monsters snapping her bones. Tiny pops filled her ears, then silence. The cool claws continued to throw her, but more gently.
